Quick Answer
When a Melbet deposit is not credited, do not immediately assume that the money has disappeared and do not make a duplicate payment.
Your first task is to identify which of three states applies:
- Pending: The payment has not reached a final status.
- Failed: The transaction did not complete and may require an automatic reversal.
- Reversed: The debit has already been returned, or a return has been initiated.
Open the transaction inside your bank or UPI application, record the exact reference number, check the full bank statement rather than relying on an SMS, and compare it with the transaction history in your Melbet account.
If money was debited but the transaction did not complete, the applicable banking timeline depends on how the payment was classified. Under the RBI framework, a failed UPI fund transfer generally has a T+1 auto-reversal limit, while a UPI merchant payment in which confirmation did not reach the merchant has a T+5 limit. Similar differences apply to IMPS and card transactions. These are outer regulatory limits for covered domestic payment-system failures, not promises that Melbet will credit a player account within the same period. ost important rule:** Do not send a second payment while the first transaction remains unresolved.
Current India Status as of August 4, 2026
There is no responsible way to declare that one Melbet deposit method is universally “working” or “not working” across India on a particular day.
The methods displayed inside an account may vary according to location, device, account history, banking provider, payment processor and compliance checks. A method visible to one user may not appear for another user. A successful transaction reported on social media also does not prove that the same route will be available or safe for someone else.
This guide therefore does not:
- Confirm that Melbet currently accepts UPI, cards, IMPS, wallets or any other particular method for every Indian account.
- Publish destination bank details, UPI IDs or payment-routing instructions.
- Recommend using another person’s bank account.
- Recommend bypassing a bank restriction.
- Claim that we funded a Melbet account to test the cashier.
- Guarantee that Melbet or an intermediary processor will credit or refund a disputed payment.
The purpose of this page is narrower: to help someone document and escalate money that has already been debited or placed into a pending state.
A Realistic Melbet Deposit Scenario
Consider an illustrative example.
A user in Pune creates a ₹2,000 deposit request. The user approves the transaction in a UPI application and receives a bank debit notification. Five minutes later:
- The bank application says “Successful.”
- The visible Melbet balance has not changed.
- The Melbet payment history says “Processing,” or shows no matching transaction.
- The user is worried that the money has been lost.
- A major cricket match is approaching, creating pressure to try again quickly.
This is the point at which a manageable payment delay can become a larger financial problem.
If the user pays again and the first transaction later completes, two payments may be debited. If the user contacts an unofficial “recovery agent,” sensitive banking evidence may be exposed. If the user shares an OTP or UPI PIN, the problem can turn into account fraud.
The safest response is not to guess. It is to classify the transaction, preserve evidence and follow the formal complaint path.
The Three-State Model: Pending vs Failed vs Reversed
The words shown by a bank, UPI app, payment gateway and betting account are not always synchronized. One system can show “success” while another still shows “pending.”
Use the following model to understand what each state means.
| Transaction state | What you may see | What it usually means | Safest immediate action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pending or processing | Bank or cashier has not issued a final result | The transaction is still being reconciled, or one system has not received the final response | Save the reference number, monitor both systems and do not pay again |
| Failed or declined | Payment app reports failure, but a temporary debit may still appear | The transfer did not complete and may be scheduled for reversal | Check the statement and raise a complaint through the payment app or bank |
| Successful at bank, missing at Melbet | Bank reports success but betting balance is unchanged | The bank-side payment completed, but merchant-side matching or account crediting has not | Obtain the reference number and contact official account support with evidence |
| Reversed or refunded | A credit-back entry appears in the bank statement | The original debit was returned | Match the reversal amount and reference to the original debit |
| Unknown | No clear transaction record or conflicting information | More evidence is required before assigning a state | Ask the bank to trace the transaction using its reference number |
Why the same transaction can display two different statuses
A digital payment passes through several separate participants. Depending on the method, these can include:
- The payer’s application.
- The payer’s bank.
- A payment-system network.
- A beneficiary or acquiring bank.
- A payment aggregator.
- A merchant-facing system.
- The operator’s internal cashier.
- The player-account ledger.
A “successful” message may confirm one stage rather than the final credit to the intended player balance. Conversely, the merchant system may be slow to update even though the payment has already reached an intermediary.
This is why screenshots alone do not settle the dispute. The reference number and bank statement are more useful.
State 1: Melbet Deposit Pending
What “pending” means
A Melbet deposit pending status generally means that the payment has not received a final success or failure result in every relevant system.
Possible causes include:
- A bank or payment application is waiting for a network response.
- The receiving side has not confirmed the transaction.
- The merchant-facing system has not received its confirmation.
- The payment reached an intermediary but has not been matched with the player account.
- The transaction was selected for manual review.
- The visible Melbet balance and the cashier history are updating at different times.
A pending status does not prove that the payment will succeed. It also does not prove that it failed.
What to do when the Melbet deposit says pending
Complete these checks in order:
- Open the payment inside the bank or UPI application.
- Record the exact date and time.
- Record the exact amount.
- Copy the transaction reference, RRN or UTR exactly as displayed.
- Check whether the transaction was a transfer or a merchant payment.
- Open the full Melbet payment history, not only the wallet total.
- Capture an unedited screenshot of the pending status.
- Check the bank statement for a completed debit or reversal.
- Avoid refreshing continuously or submitting repeated deposit requests.
- Raise the issue through the UPI application or bank if the status does not update.
NPCI advises users to check transaction history and raise a grievance through the participating UPI application or bank. Its consumer FAQ also warns that transactions may take longer because of operator issues and that users should contact their bank when confirmation does not arrive. Do not confuse “pending” with “money received”
A bank debit only confirms that money left the available balance or was placed on hold. It does not independently prove that the correct Melbet player account received the funds.
For that reason, avoid statements such as:
- “The operator definitely has my money.”
- “My bank says success, so Melbet must credit it immediately.”
- “Pending means the payment will eventually be accepted.”
- “The first payment failed, so I can safely try again.”
Until the transaction is traced, these are assumptions.
State 2: Melbet Payment Failed
What a failed transaction means
A Melbet payment failed message indicates that the requested transaction did not complete as intended.
The failure might occur because of:
- A timeout.
- An interrupted authentication process.
- A bank-side risk decision.
- Incorrect or incomplete transaction information.
- A payment-system communication problem.
- A merchant confirmation failure.
- A payment limit.
- A temporary technical outage.
- An operator-side rejection or inability to match the payment.
In some failed transactions, no money leaves the account. In others, the account is debited and an automatic reversal follows.
The bank statement determines which situation applies.
Failed but no money was deducted
If the application says failed and the bank statement shows no debit:
- Save the error code for your records.
- Do not treat a notification or abandoned request as a completed payment.
- Do not contact a recovery agent.
- Do not submit banking credentials to anyone.
- Consider the transaction closed unless a later debit appears.
The absence of a debit means there may be no missing money to recover.
Failed but money was deducted
If the application says failed but the statement shows a debit:
- Open the transaction and locate the reference number.
- Use the “report an issue” or complaint function inside the payment application.
- Contact the bank and ask whether a reversal has been initiated.
- Ask how the payment was categorized: UPI fund transfer, UPI merchant payment, IMPS, card-not-present transaction or another rail.
- Request a complaint or service-request number.
- Monitor the statement for the reversal.
- Escalate if the applicable outer limit passes without a refund.
The categorization matters because the RBI framework does not assign one universal deadline to every digital-payment failure.
State 3: Melbet Deposit Reversed
What a reversed transaction means
A reversal occurs when a debit cannot be completed through to its intended destination and the amount is returned to the originating account.
A reversal may appear as:
- REV.
- Reversal.
- Refund.
- Credit adjustment.
- Returned transaction.
- UPI reversal.
- Merchant reversal.
- A credit with the same or related reference number.
The wording varies by bank.
How to verify the reversal
Do not rely only on the available balance. Compare the original debit and the later credit.
Confirm:
- The returned amount equals the original debit.
- The credit belongs to the same transaction.
- The date of the reversal.
- The narration or reference number.
- Whether any bank or foreign-exchange charge remains.
- Whether the Melbet balance was also credited, which could create a duplicate-resolution issue.
If both a bank reversal and a Melbet credit appear, do not spend or transfer the disputed amount until the discrepancy is reported and clarified. Keep the funds untouched and contact the relevant official support channels.
Reversed does not always mean instant
A “reversal initiated” notification is not the same as money being available in the account.
The final timing depends on the payment rail and transaction classification. The RBI’s failed-transaction framework sets different outer limits, including T+1 for certain failed UPI transfers and IMPS transfers, and T+5 for certain merchant-payment or card-not-present failures. The framework also states that covered delayed reversals can attract compensation of ₹100 per day beyond the applicable limit. ever, the same circular says its framework covers domestic transactions in which both the originator and beneficiary are within India. A payment associated with an offshore operator may involve an Indian intermediary, an overseas element or a transaction structure that is not obvious to the customer. Ask the bank which part of the transaction is covered instead of assuming that every operator-side dispute falls within one RBI deadline.
RBI Failed-Transaction Timelines Explained
One of the most common mistakes in payment guides is publishing a blanket instruction such as “wait seven days.”
That is too broad.
The RBI framework uses T to represent the transaction date and establishes different outer limits according to the payment system and type of failure.
| Payment type | Failure described by RBI | RBI outer limit |
| UPI fund transfer | Payer debited but beneficiary account not credited | Auto-reversal by T+1 |
| UPI merchant payment | Payer debited but confirmation not received at merchant | Auto-reversal within T+5 |
| IMPS transfer | Payer debited but beneficiary not credited | Auto-reversal by T+1 |
| Card-to-card transfer | Card debited but beneficiary card not credited | Reversal by T+1 |
| Card e-commerce payment | Account debited but confirmation not received at merchant | Auto-reversal within T+5 |
| Eligible delayed resolution | Reversal not completed within applicable outer limit | ₹100 per day beyond the limit |
These deadlines concern failed transactions in authorized payment systems and are not a guarantee that Melbet will update a player wallet within T+1 or T+5. An operator-account credit dispute can require a separate merchant-side reconciliation. How to use these timelines correctly
Ask your bank or payment provider:
“Please confirm whether this was recorded as a UPI fund transfer, UPI merchant payment, IMPS transaction, card-not-present payment or another transaction type. What is the applicable reversal timeline for this reference number?”
This is more effective than simply asking, “Where is my money?”
What if the bank says the transaction was successful?
Ask for clarification:
- Was the beneficiary account credited?
- Was only the payment-system stage completed?
- Is the transaction settled or still reconciling?
- Was a reversal request received?
- Is the beneficiary an account, merchant or payment aggregator?
- Can the bank provide a written final-status response?
A bank can usually investigate the banking leg. It cannot directly modify a Melbet player balance.
The 15-Minute Self-Check
Before contacting Melbet or your bank, complete this self-check.
1. Confirm the debit
Open the official bank statement or transaction ledger.
Do not rely solely on:
- A text message.
- A push notification.
- An email receipt.
- A screenshot of the payment confirmation screen.
- The amount shown in the UPI application’s home screen.
Look for an actual debit entry.
2. Find the transaction reference
Depending on the payment rail, this may be labelled:
- UPI transaction ID.
- UPI reference.
- RRN.
- Bank reference.
- IMPS reference.
- Transaction number.
- Merchant reference.
- Authorization code.
UPI complaints commonly use a 12-digit RRN, but you should copy the complete identifier displayed by your application rather than assuming every payment method uses the same format. NPCI’s complaint process asks users for the relevant transaction number or RRN and routes the complaint to the applicable member institution. 3. Compare the amount
Check that the following amounts match:
- The amount requested in the cashier.
- The amount approved in the payment application.
- The amount debited from the bank.
- The amount shown in the transaction history.
Do not edit a screenshot to make the values appear consistent.
4. Confirm the date and time
Record the exact time and timezone.
Use a format such as:
August 4, 2026, 14:37 IST
This avoids ambiguity when support agents review systems operating in different timezones.
5. Check both Melbet records
Look at:
- The visible account balance.
- The cashier or deposit history.
- Any pending-payment section.
- Account notifications.
- The registered email inbox.
- Spam or junk folders.
A payment can appear in the transaction history before the visible wallet total refreshes.
6. Search for a reversal
Review the statement from the transaction date to the present.
Look for a later credit with:
- The same amount.
- A similar reference.
- A reversal or refund narration.
- A payment-processor name.
- A date after the original debit.
7. Check whether the payment was yours
The payer name should match the account holder where required.
Do not use or submit:
- A spouse’s bank account.
- A friend’s wallet.
- A relative’s UPI account.
- A borrowed card.
- Another person’s KYC identity.
- A business account not authorized for the transaction.
This guide cannot help bypass account-ownership or compliance requirements.
8. Secure the account
Before uploading evidence:
- Change your password if it has been shared.
- Enable available login security.
- Sign out of unknown sessions.
- Remove sensitive files from public cloud links.
- Check whether you installed an unofficial application.
- Scan the device if an unknown APK was used.
Never send an OTP, UPI PIN, CVV, banking password or complete card number.
Evidence Checklist for an Uncredited Melbet Deposit
A well-organized evidence package can prevent repeated requests for the same information.
Essential evidence
| Evidence | What it should show | Privacy precautions |
| Bank or UPI transaction record | Amount, date, time, status and reference number | Hide unrelated transactions and unnecessary account numbers |
| Bank statement | The original debit and whether a reversal occurred | Use a password-protected file when supported |
| Melbet transaction history | Pending, failed or missing deposit record | Do not expose the account password |
| Melbet account ID | Correct account to investigate | Share only through official support |
| Error message | Exact wording or code | Capture the complete screen |
| Support ticket history | Previous complaint number and response | Keep chronological copies |
Optional but helpful evidence
- A screen recording showing navigation from transaction history to the disputed payment.
- A bank email confirming the transaction status.
- The merchant or beneficiary name displayed by the bank.
- A PDF statement for the relevant date range.
- The original deposit-request identifier.
- The version of the Melbet app or browser used.
- The device time and timezone.
- Previous ticket numbers.
How to prepare screenshots safely
A screenshot should be genuine and readable, but it does not need to expose every personal detail.
Keep visible:
- Transaction amount.
- Transaction date.
- Transaction time.
- Payment status.
- Reference number.
- Relevant merchant or beneficiary information.
Mask where appropriate:
- Full bank account number.
- Full debit or credit card number.
- Unrelated account balances.
- Home address.
- Aadhaar number.
- PAN number.
- Unrelated transactions.
Never alter the transaction status, amount, timestamp or reference number.
Avoid public evidence uploads
Do not post full transaction receipts on:
- Telegram groups.
- Facebook comments.
- X posts.
- Public complaint forums.
- Review websites.
- Shared image hosts without access controls.
Transaction details can be used in phishing or impersonation attempts.
Why You Should Not Make a Duplicate Deposit
A duplicate payment is not a troubleshooting method.
It creates a second transaction with its own:
- Amount.
- Reference number.
- Processing status.
- Reversal path.
- Merchant record.
- Support ticket.
- Potential compliance review.
What can happen after a duplicate payment
Both payments succeed
The account may receive twice the intended amount, leaving the user with more gambling funds than planned.
The second payment succeeds and the first remains pending
The unresolved first debit still needs to be traced.
The first payment reverses after the second succeeds
The statement now contains a debit, second debit and later reversal, increasing the chance of confusion.
Both payments fail
The user has two missing-payment cases rather than one.
Repeated transactions trigger security checks
Rapid repeated payments can lead to temporary limits, additional authentication or fraud review by a bank or payment provider.
The user gambles with the second payment while stressed
Payment frustration can encourage impulsive staking or attempts to “recover” the delayed money through betting.
For consumer protection, this page does not recommend making another deposit even after a particular waiting period. Resolve, reverse or formally close the first transaction before making any separate financial decision.
Payment-Method-Specific Checks
UPI payment
For a UPI transaction:
- Open the payment in the UPI application.
- Check whether it says pending, failed or successful.
- Copy the RRN or transaction reference.
- Use the application’s report-an-issue function.
- Contact the linked bank if the application cannot resolve it.
- Ask whether it was a fund transfer or merchant payment.
- Compare the applicable T+1 or T+5 RBI category.
- Save the complaint reference.
NPCI states that users can raise complaints directly through participating UPI applications, and that a UPI payment cannot simply be stopped after it has been initiated. IMPS transaction
For IMPS:
- Check the bank statement.
- Record the IMPS reference.
- Ask whether the beneficiary account was credited.
- Request the final status in writing.
- Refer to the T+1 failed-transfer framework where applicable.
- Keep the bank complaint number.
Do not assume that an operator’s internal payment status is the same as the beneficiary-bank status.
Debit or credit card
For a card payment:
- Check whether the transaction is pending, authorized, reversed or settled.
- Distinguish an authorization hold from a posted charge.
- Record the authorization or transaction reference.
- Check whether the amount changed because of currency conversion.
- Ask the issuer for the merchant descriptor.
- Do not initiate a chargeback using false information.
- Follow the issuer’s legitimate dispute process.
A card-not-present payment in which the account was debited but merchant confirmation was not received falls under a different RBI timeline from a card-to-card transfer. Wallet or prepaid payment instrument
For a wallet:
- Check both the wallet history and linked bank statement.
- Determine whether the wallet itself or the underlying UPI/card rail processed the payment.
- Record both references if two are shown.
- Raise the complaint with the wallet provider.
- Ask which payment-system timeline applies.
RBI’s framework states that off-us wallet transactions follow the rules of the underlying system, such as UPI, card or IMPS. Net banking
For net banking:
- Download the bank statement.
- Record the bank reference and merchant reference.
- Check whether the transaction is completed, failed or awaiting confirmation.
- Ask the bank whether a reversal is pending.
- Do not resend money to details found in an old payment record.
- Do not use payment details supplied through social media.
Safe Escalation Order
Use a documented escalation path rather than contacting multiple unofficial parties at once.
Step 1: Raise a complaint in the payment application
Use the disputed transaction’s report or help option.
Include:
- Amount.
- Date.
- Time.
- Reference number.
- Transaction status.
- Brief description.
Save the complaint number.
Step 2: Contact the bank
Ask the bank to trace the transaction using the reference number.
Suggested wording:
“My account was debited, but the intended merchant-side credit is not reflected. Please confirm the payment rail, final transaction status, beneficiary-credit status, applicable reversal deadline and whether a reversal has been initiated.”
Ask for the response by secure email or within the bank’s complaint system.
Step 3: Contact Melbet through an official account channel
Use only a support channel currently displayed:
- Inside the logged-in website.
- Inside the official application.
- On the official contact page reached directly through the verified site.
Do not rely on an email address copied from an old blog post. Support details can change.
Provide the evidence package and ask for:
- A ticket number.
- Confirmation that the payment was sent for reconciliation.
- The internal transaction status.
- Any additional evidence required.
- A written resolution.
Step 4: Follow up using the same ticket
Avoid opening multiple identical tickets.
Repeated submissions can:
- Split the evidence across different cases.
- Produce conflicting responses.
- Reset the review process.
- Make it harder to establish a clear chronology.
Step 5: Escalate the regulated payment-provider complaint
If the bank or payment provider does not resolve the complaint satisfactorily, use its grievance officer or nodal escalation process.
If an RBI-regulated entity has not resolved the complaint to the customer’s satisfaction or has not replied within 30 days, the Reserve Bank–Integrated Ombudsman Scheme provides a cost-free escalation route for eligible complaints. RBI Ombudsman can examine service deficiencies by covered regulated entities. It cannot directly change a Melbet account balance or compel an offshore operator in the same way it can address a complaint involving a covered bank or payment-system participant.

Scam and Impersonation Warnings
People searching for “Melbet deposit not credited” are attractive targets for scammers because they are worried and already expecting contact from support.
Common scam approaches
Fake recovery agent
The person claims to have access to the payment gateway and requests a fee to release the deposit.
A legitimate reversal does not require payment to an individual agent.
Fake support account
A social-media profile copies an operator’s branding and asks for:
- Login password.
- OTP.
- UPI PIN.
- CVV.
- Full card number.
- Remote device access.
- Screen sharing.
- Installation of an unknown APK.
Do not provide any of these.
Refund collect request
A scammer sends a UPI collect request and claims approving it will release a refund.
Approving a collect request authorizes money to leave your account. It does not receive a refund.
Screen-sharing application
The scammer asks the user to install a remote-support application, then observes banking credentials or controls the device.
Official payment tracing should not require remote access to your phone.
Edited proof request
The scammer offers to create or modify a payment receipt.
Submitting false evidence can cause the complaint to be rejected and may create additional account or legal problems.
Information support should never need
Never share:
- UPI PIN.
- OTP.
- Complete debit or credit card number.
- Card CVV.
- Net-banking password.
- Email password.
- Melbet password.
- Aadhaar OTP.
- Wallet seed phrase.
- Remote-access code.
NPCI explicitly warns users not to share their UPI PIN and states that bank customer support will not ask for it.
When the Melbet Balance Is Not Updated but the Bank Says Success
This is one of the most confusing situations.
The correct approach is to separate the dispute into two questions.
Question 1: What happened in the banking system?
Ask the bank:
- Was the transaction finally settled?
- Was the beneficiary account credited?
- What merchant or beneficiary received it?
- Is a reversal possible or pending?
- What payment-system category applies?
Question 2: What happened inside the Melbet account?
Ask official account support:
- Is there an unmatched payment with the same amount and timestamp?
- Does the payment processor show a pending callback?
- Was the payment rejected?
- Is manual reconciliation required?
- Was a refund sent?
- What is the refund reference?
The bank investigates the banking leg. Melbet support investigates the player-account leg. Neither party should be asked to guess what happened in the other party’s private system.
Avoid accusatory language before the trace is complete
A clear factual complaint is generally more useful than alleging fraud without evidence.
State:
“The bank statement shows a debit, and the player balance does not show a matching credit.”
Avoid stating:
“The operator stole my money.”
There may ultimately be a serious dispute, but the first objective is to obtain traceable records.
What to Do If Melbet Support Says “Wait”
Ask for more specific information.
Useful questions include:
- Is the payment visible in the processor’s records?
- What status does it currently have?
- Has it been sent for manual reconciliation?
- What is the ticket number?
- What evidence is still missing?
- When should the same ticket be updated?
- If a refund was initiated, what is its reference number?
- Which date was the refund submitted?
Do not accept a request to share secret banking credentials.
If the response is generic, reply within the same ticket with the complete transaction summary.
What to Do If the Bank Says “Contact the Merchant”
Ask the bank to confirm its own portion first.
The bank should still be able to explain:
- Whether the account was debited.
- Whether the transaction was settled.
- The transaction reference.
- The payment-system category.
- Whether a reversal was received or initiated.
- The merchant or beneficiary information shown in its system.
- Whether a formal complaint was registered.
The bank may not be able to access Melbet’s internal ledger, but it should not require the customer to accept an unclear banking status.
What to Do If Both Sides Deny Holding the Money
Build a chronology.
| Date and time | Event | Evidence |
| Transaction time | Payment authorized | App receipt |
| Debit time | Bank account debited | Statement |
| First complaint | Payment app contacted | Complaint number |
| Bank response | Final status stated | Written response |
| Operator complaint | Melbet contacted | Ticket number |
| Follow-up | Additional evidence sent | Email or chat record |
| Reversal date | Credit returned, if applicable | Statement |
Then ask each party to respond to the other party’s written status.
For example:
“My bank has confirmed in writing that the beneficiary side received the funds. Please use the attached confirmation and transaction reference to escalate the unmatched payment.”
Or:
“The merchant has confirmed that it did not receive the payment. Please trace the failed transaction and confirm the reversal date.”
Do not fabricate or paraphrase a response inaccurately. Attach the original secure correspondence.
What This Guide Will Never Recommend
This consumer-protection page will not advise users to:
- Make a test deposit.
- Pay a second time while the first transaction is pending.
- Use another person’s bank account.
- Use another person’s KYC identity.
- Split a payment to avoid a limit.
- Use a VPN to bypass payment restrictions.
- Use proxy payment agents.
- Transfer money to details supplied through Telegram or WhatsApp.
- Download a cashier or payment APK from an unofficial mirror.
- Misdescribe a legitimate transaction as unauthorized.
- Submit edited evidence.
- Pay an agent to release a refund.
- Share an OTP, PIN, password or CVV.
- Chase the delayed money through higher betting stakes.
If a bank blocks the transaction, respect the restriction and ask the bank for an explanation. Do not attempt to route around it.
Legal Position in India
India’s gambling framework cannot be reduced to a single nationwide statement covering every person, state, game and online operator.
The Public Gambling Act, 1867 remains part of the legal background, while states can have separate gambling and gaming provisions. The application of these laws to online activity can depend on location, game type, judicial interpretation and later state legislation. s article therefore does not claim that:
- Melbet is legal throughout India.
- Melbet is illegal throughout India.
- An offshore licence creates authorization in every Indian state.
- A successful bank payment proves legal approval.
- A rejected payment proves that the operator is unlawful.
A payment dispute and the underlying legality of gambling are separate issues.
Users should check current law in their state and obtain professional legal advice where necessary.
Tax Note: Deposits Are Not the Same as Net Winnings
A deposit into an online gaming account is different from taxable net winnings.
Section 194BA of the Income-tax Act provides for tax deduction on net winnings from online games at withdrawal and, where relevant, at the end of the financial year. Section 115BBJ applies a 30% income-tax rate to net winnings from online games, subject to the statutory calculation rules and the taxpayer’s circumstances. s does not mean that every unexplained debit, failed deposit or returned payment is automatically taxable as a winning.
Keep records of:
- Deposits.
- Reversals.
- Refunds.
- Withdrawals.
- TDS certificates.
- Account statements.
- Annual transaction summaries.
- Support resolutions.
Consult a Chartered Accountant for personal tax reporting. Do not rely on an offshore platform to determine every Indian tax obligation correctly.
Responsible Gambling During a Payment Dispute
A payment delay can create emotional pressure that is separate from the technical problem.
Warning signs include:
- Feeling compelled to deposit again before a match begins.
- Increasing the intended deposit amount.
- Borrowing money while waiting for a reversal.
- Trying to recover the missing amount through betting.
- Repeatedly checking the account throughout the night.
- Becoming angry or distressed when support does not respond immediately.
- Hiding the payment dispute from family.
- Using money allocated to rent, food, bills or debt repayments.
A safer pause plan
While the deposit is unresolved:
- Do not make another gambling payment.
- Do not place bets using borrowed funds.
- Save the evidence and close the cashier.
- Turn off promotional notifications.
- Set a reminder to check the formal ticket rather than repeatedly refreshing.
- Tell a trusted person if the situation is causing distress.
- Use account limits or self-exclusion tools where appropriate.
- Seek professional support if gambling feels difficult to control.
No sporting event requires an immediate financial response. Missing a betting opportunity is safer than creating a duplicate debit or chasing money under stress.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Melbet deposit not credited?
The payment may still be pending, may have failed and entered the reversal process, or may have completed at the bank but not been matched to the player account. Check the bank statement, transaction reference and Melbet payment history before assigning a cause.
What should I do first when my Melbet balance is not updated?
Open the transaction in your bank or payment application, record the exact reference number, confirm whether money was actually debited and search the statement for a reversal. Do not make another payment.
How long can a Melbet deposit remain pending?
There is no reliable universal Melbet timeframe. The applicable banking deadline depends on the payment rail and failure type. RBI lists T+1 for certain UPI or IMPS fund-transfer failures and T+5 for certain UPI merchant-payment or e-commerce card failures. Operator-side reconciliation may be separate. Is every UPI reversal supposed to happen within 24 hours?
No. The RBI distinguishes a UPI fund transfer from a UPI merchant payment. The first can fall under T+1, while a merchant payment without confirmation at the merchant can fall under T+5. Ask the bank which category applies. My UPI application says successful, but Melbet says failed. Is my money lost?
Not necessarily. The two systems may be reporting different stages. Ask the bank whether the beneficiary or merchant acquirer received the funds, then provide the written status and reference number to official Melbet support.
Can I cancel a pending UPI payment?
NPCI states that a UPI payment cannot be stopped after it has been initiated. Use the complaint process in the UPI application or contact the bank instead. Should I make another deposit?
No. A second payment can create duplicate debits and a second dispute. Resolve or formally close the existing transaction first.
Where can I find my UPI transaction reference?
Open the transaction details inside the UPI application. It may be labelled UPI transaction ID, RRN, UPI reference or transaction number. Copy it exactly as displayed.
Does every UTR have 12 digits?
UPI complaint systems commonly use a 12-digit RRN, but reference formats can differ across UPI, IMPS, NEFT, cards and merchant systems. Use the complete identifier shown by the bank rather than forcing every payment into one format.
What screenshots should I send?
Send an unedited transaction record, relevant statement page, Melbet transaction-history screen and any error message. Mask unrelated transactions and unnecessary personal information.
Can support ask for my UPI PIN or OTP?
No legitimate payment investigation requires your UPI PIN, OTP, banking password or CVV. Do not provide them. NPCI warns that a bank’s customer support will not ask for the UPI PIN. What if the payment was made from someone else’s account?
Do not attempt to hide the payer’s identity or create edited evidence. Third-party payments may cause ownership, KYC or compliance problems. The actual account holder should contact their bank regarding the debit, while the registered player should contact official account support.
What if my bank blocked the payment?
Ask the bank why it was blocked and respect the restriction. Do not use another person’s account, proxy service, virtual route or unverified payment agent to bypass the decision.
Can an unofficial Telegram agent recover the deposit?
Do not trust an agent who requests a fee, OTP, PIN, login credentials or remote access. Use the bank, payment application and official account support.
What if the reversal is late?
Confirm the payment type and applicable RBI category with the bank. Raise a formal complaint and obtain a service-request number. For eligible complaints against RBI-regulated entities, further escalation may be possible through the RBI Integrated Ombudsman after the regulated entity has not resolved the complaint satisfactorily or has not replied within 30 days. Is RBI compensation automatic?
The RBI framework says applicable financial compensation for covered delays should be credited suo motu, without waiting for a separate customer claim. Whether a specific transaction is covered depends on its payment-system classification and other facts. Can the RBI Ombudsman force Melbet to update my balance?
The Ombudsman route concerns eligible service deficiencies involving covered RBI-regulated entities, such as banks and payment-system participants. It is not an account-support department for an offshore betting operator.
Does a reversed deposit count as gambling winnings?
A returned deposit is not the same concept as net winnings. Keep the transaction evidence and consult a Chartered Accountant about personal reporting obligations.
Is Melbet legal in India?
This page does not provide a blanket legal conclusion. Gambling law varies by state and circumstances. Consult a lawyer familiar with the current rules in your state.
What should I do after the money is returned?
Save the statement, complaint response and reversal reference. Review whether the original transaction also appeared in the Melbet balance. If both a reversal and account credit appear, report the discrepancy before using the disputed amount.
Final Recovery Checklist
Before considering the case closed, confirm each item:
- I identified the exact transaction.
- I recorded the date, time, amount and reference number.
- I checked the full bank statement.
- I checked the Melbet transaction history.
- I did not make a duplicate payment.
- I raised a complaint through the payment application or bank.
- I obtained a complaint number.
- I contacted only official account support.
- I did not share an OTP, PIN, password or CVV.
- I preserved all written responses.
- I confirmed whether a reversal was actually credited.
- I checked that the Melbet balance was not also credited.
- I escalated the regulated payment-provider complaint where appropriate.
- I did not gamble in an attempt to recover the delayed money.
Conclusion
A Melbet deposit not credited is not solved by guessing, repeatedly refreshing the wallet or paying again.
The safest recovery process is:
Identify the transaction state → preserve the reference number → check the statement → avoid a duplicate payment → complain through the bank or payment app → submit evidence to official account support → escalate the regulated payment-provider complaint when appropriate.
Pending, failed and reversed transactions require different responses. The bank may be able to trace the payment-system leg, while official Melbet support must investigate the player-account leg. Keeping those two investigations separate—and documenting both—is the clearest route to a resolution.
No recovery process should require another deposit, a third-party account, an unofficial payment agent or disclosure of secret banking credentials.
